Fireworks Safety: Do’s & Don’ts You Must Follow This Diwali.
Stay Safe. Celebrate Responsibly. Follow Government Rules.
🔥 FIREWORK SAFETY DO'S
Always purchase fireworks from authorized sellers with government-approved licenses.
Carefully read the instructions on the firework label before use.
Fireworks must be used in open, outdoor areas — never inside homes or near buildings.
Children should only use fireworks under strict adult supervision.
Use a long agarbatti or candle — never matchsticks or lighters — to safely ignite fireworks.
Always keep two buckets of water or a hosepipe nearby in case of fire emergencies.
Light only one firework at a time, and keep others at a safe distance.
Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes, especially during aerial fireworks.
Store fireworks in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources or flammable materials.
Fireworks should be used only between 8 PM to 10 PM during festivals, as per Indian Supreme Court guidelines.
🚫 FIREWORK SAFETY DON'TS
Homemade or experimental fireworks are extremely dangerous and illegal.
Never re-light malfunctioning fireworks. Wait 15–20 minutes and soak them in water.
Never ignite fireworks in your hand — place them on a flat surface before lighting.
Never use fireworks inside your home or on public roads/thoroughfares.
Loose, synthetic clothing can easily catch fire. Wear tight-fitting, cotton clothes.
Fireworks should never be kept in pant or shirt pockets — they can ignite from body heat or friction.
Never place or light fireworks inside bottles, cans, or metal/glass containers — they can explode dangerously.
Never aim or throw fireworks at another person or animal.
Do not touch fireworks that seem finished — they could still be live and may explode.
Stay away from spurious or black-market fireworks — they are often unregulated and highly dangerous.
